The Shadow

The long forgotten memory,
a fire without light.
I walk this Earth in misery,
no longer can I fight.
Born of darkness and despair,
I live my life of woe.
Behind this mask there lies a heart
that I may never show.
A shadow of society,
a creature spawned from doom.
A spirit yearning to live free
that darkness can not consume.
This world can not bring me down,
I stand strong still today
because a shadow never dies,
it simply fades away...
